Do You Need A New Computer?
Do you need a new computer? Choosing one may become an exciting venture if you really know what you need and where to search for what you want. We offer you to discuss some of the basic information you have to search for while choosing your PC.
1. Processor. You should begin with choosing the brain system of your computer – the processor or CPU. If you open the computer you will find that a processor is simply a chip found on the motherboard. Everything else is located around the processor; yet, this small chip regulates entire system. To tell the truth, this is the most expensive part of your computer and the quality of the latter is determined by the power of the former. At present, the most common types of processors are Athlon and Sempron which are usually the cheapest and the least effective types of processors. The recent innovations – Intel Core 2 Duo and Phenom Quad – are the types of processors that are the most popular ones nowadays. The relation between the price and the quality is quite reasonable. However, if you wish to have something of the best kind, you should choose Intel Core Quad or Phenom X4.
2. RAM memory. RAM memory is usually defined as the temporary memory of the PC. In fact, the more RAM you have the better your computer is operated, and the faster your programs are run. The cheapest computers will have as little as 512 MB of RAM, however, this usually considered to be not enough. 1 GB RAM is the most popular configuration. Yet, nowadays you will even find 2 GB and 4 GB RAM computers.
3. Hard disk drive. Hard disk drive is the permanent memory. Of course, it is better to have as much permanent memory as possible. The good news is that hard drives are quite affordable. A standard hard disk will have as much as 40 GB. Yet, you should always go for more. Actually, nowadays you will find computers with 1,000 GB permanent memory.
4. Graphic card. Usually it is not too good to have graphic card integrated into your motherboard. Integrated graphic card usually means that you will not be able to use well and fully graphics intensive programs and videogames. Thus, search for non-integrated graphic cards when you shop for a computer.
5. Sound card. Like with graphic card, you may have either your sound card integrated to the motherboard, or disintegrated from motherboard. The pros and cons of integrated sound card are quite the same as with graphic card.
6. Monitors. I have to admit that monitors are mostly a matter of preference. Recently, LCD monitors have become the most popular ones. But there is an innovation on the market of monitors. These are OLED monitors that are super-thin and reflect graphics almost perfectly.
7. Ports. Make sure that the computer you are buying has USB 2.0 ports.
