Walden University was the brainchild of two New York teachers who wanted to create a specialized program for working adults pursuing doctoral degrees. The first classes were held in a Naples, Florida hotel back 1970. Walden University has become one of the most respected distance education institutions in the nation. Walden University provides degree programs in four schools including; education, social and behavioral sciences, management and technology and health sciences. Walden online courses are entirely accessible via the internet and there’s no campus. Walden online doctoral programs require 20 units of academic residency, and some master’s courses have specializations with residency requirements.
Doctoral and Master’s students can complete residency requirements at convenient locations of their choice. Walden online even offers international community residencies available in Spain, Chile, and England. Walden Online courses are asynchronous giving students the flexibility to take part in their course studies on their own time. Students will have access to an online syllabus list with all required readings, assignments and discussion topics.
